Dyno Nobel In-Depth Case Study

The global, industrial and mining explosives manufacturer needed to update several men’s and women’s restrooms and locker rooms on its 500,000 ft2 campus. In addition to updating bathroom partitions, floor and wall tiles, and plumbing and lighting fixtures, wood sub-flooring and walls needed to be replaced—not an unexpected thing for older brownstone buildings at the Simsbury, CT plant.

Regular reviews helped Adform Interiors, sub-contractors, and the Dyno Nobel facilities team to stay on top of all the complexities and changes throughout the project, including a delay in receiving some materials.

Frequent communication enabled the team, on both the client and contractor side, to quickly pivot when needed. For example, well into construction, Dyno Nobel decided to add tiles to some of the walls. With the notice provided, Adform Interiors easily substituted some work, and the project still stayed on schedule and on budget.
